Vikram Chandra is an author and entrepreneur. His latest book is Geek Sublime: The Beauty of Code, the Code of Beauty. It is his first nonfiction work and covers the connection between code and art. Chandra himself has programmed for nearly his entire writing career, and in Geek Sublime, he compares the craft of writing to the process of coding.
Chandra also wrote the novel Red Earth and Pouring Rain, which won the Commonwealth Writers Prize. He is also the author of Sacred Games, which was translated into India's first Netflix TV series. Sacred Games is far from Geek Sublime in terms of content. The book is a fictional adventure exploring themes such as organized crime and public service. In addition to his writing career, Chandra is the co-founder and CEO of Granthika Co, a software startup using groundbreaking technology to reinvent writing and reading for the digital age. At SALA, Chandra can tell us about his experience in the fields of coding and writing, drawing parallels between them as well as differences.
