Harsha Ram is an Associate Professor at the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures and Department of Comparative Literature, University of California, Berkeley. His research and teaching interests are, Russian and comparative European romanticism and modernism, Russian and European avant-garde, Indian literature, Comparative modernisms and modernities, etc. He has widely published on the same. His current book projects include, City of Crossroads: Tiflis Modernism and the Russian-Georgian Encounter, and Poetry and Power: The Futurist Avant-garde in Russia and Italy. His work titled, The Imperial Sublime: A Russian Poetics of Empire, was published in 2003.
